We all love to save a few pennies where we can and if doing so can also reduce our carbon footprint then it’s a win win. So here we share and discuss our energy saving tips for your home.
Dripping Taps
A dripping tap not only loses you money, but it also wastes an awful lot of unnecessary water. If you have a dripping tap in your home, remember to change washers as soon as possible. Or if needed, replace the tap.
Replace bulbs with LEDs
Simply swapping your light bulbs for LEDs can save you both energy and money. And always remember to switch the light off behind you when you leave the room!
Thermostats
Installing a room thermostat, programmer and thermostatic radiator valves and using these controls efficiently is a great way of saving a few pounds. Having the right controls fitted will allow you to set your heating and hot water to come on and off only when you need them. It also means you can heat only the rooms in your home which you need heating. You can also set the temperature for each room of your home.
Smart heating controls give the added bonus of being able to manage your heating via a mobile app This allows you to control your heating wherever you are. Very handy if you forget to turn the heating off when you go out.
Radiators
Consider where your radiators are positioned. Radiators against outside walls can allow heat to escape. Move sofas slightly away from radiators to allow the heat to circulate around the room more effectively.
